Doctoral study at The Innovation School provides an opportunity for further research into a wide range of topics related to Design Innovation. Our doctoral candidates embark on PhD inquiries that explore the role of design in contexts such as: accelerating economic renewal and regeneration; developing creative capacity with communities; creative engagement; and enhancing individual and collective wellbeing.

Our practice-based research culture supports candidates as they seek to generate new knowledge and understanding through creative practice, scholarship and criticism.

Due to Covid-19 and ongoing government restrictions, the PhD Research Training Programme, Seasonal Schools, and meetings amongst supervisory teams will take place remotely through teleconferencing platforms such a Zoom. Students will be able to access the Library through an online booking system.
